Bombi Kisiki 120m long and Shakahola Hawewanje 115m long are footbridges constructed across the Sabaki River. The footbridges comprise of two different elements the foundations and the decking. Project cost for both footbridges was Ksh 235 Million. The foundations are deep foundations consisting of 559mm dia 12.5mm thick steel piles a total of 60 piles 30 on each footbridge driven 30m below sea bed with a reinforced concrete pile cap and a concrete surround on the piles to impede corrosion.
Download profileReconstruction of Mokowe Jetty and associated works is a projected mooted by the state department of public works in the year 2019. Project cost 600 million Kenya shillings. The projected consisted of three main components
1. Pilled foundations
2. Precast concrete and insitu concrete works.
3. Associated works and Fendering.
Marianist training institute in it development plan wished to include the following.
1. Girls flat roofed dormitory block with 30 rooms, a matrons unit, four ablution units internally and one externally.
2. A dining Hall 30x20 Sqm masonry walls and structural steel roof.
3. Kitchen unit attached to the dining hall
4. Press building comprising of an equipment hall, a several office units .
All the works combined totalled to an estimate of Ksh 52 million.
Clear span construction company limited jointly with Appallan marine and general construction were contracted to construct hard stands for six massive fuel tanks and trapezoidal drainage around the tanks at a cost of 12 million shillings.
